The Dress…

That dress though. If you don’t see black and blue you are crazy. It took the internet by storm over night. I still don’t totally understand everything but apparently it has something to do with the lighting in the back making our eyes focus on different tones in the dress. If you look at the dress with inverted colours it is somewhat shades of white and gold. And just to ruin everything for the folks who see white and gold the original dress is blue and black! Maze Runner: book vs movie

WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!

Okay so first off I loved both the book and the movie but I have some prons and cons comparing the two. First off, last summer I was hearing all about this new book “The Maze Runner” I thought it looked interesting so when my grandpa offered to take me to Walmart I was like YES PLEASE. I read the book that week and then Vienna and I started to obsess over Dylan O’Brien. We went and saw the movie a few weeks later and let me say that it was not my favourite movie. First of all,  Teresa and Thomas didn’t speak to each other through their minds! That was a huge disappointment because they do this throughout the whole book series and how are they going to include all that information in the movie?! And secondly, so many people died and not enough people got out of the maze in order to make the Scorch Trials (second book) work. I was disappointed and wished I watched the movie before I read the book. The Maze Runner book series is amazing though! I love the mystery and love-though it is a little annoying at times and I’m not sure who Thomas should trust and have a crush on lol it still is a really hard book to put down. Vienna and I have been looking up movies with Dylan in them and screenshotting pictures because he is just so hot we cant help it. If you have no idea what I’m talking about look him up right now and watch the Maze Runner movies before you read the fantastic book series.

A Healthy Breakfast

I am in love with eating healthy and so is Marley. One of my favourite breakfasts is porridge with different toppings! If you don’t know what porridge is, it is crushed cereal of some kind boiled in water. It is usually served hot and is very good for your body. My favourite things to add are:

-One handful of berries

-One scoop of peanut butter (if you are allergic a good alternative is pea butter)

-One handful of almond bits

-Yogurt

Other things that you could put in it is:

-Milk

-Granola

-Sugar

I really love this type of breakfast because it tastes really good and is healthier than eating cold sugar filled cereal. It is a bit more time consuming but the time is worth it. Try it out and tell us what you think on our facebook page!

Lemon Detox Water

The weather has been off and on lately, raining some days and sunny others. And to add to that, everyone has colds too-the whole coughing, runny nose jam so I have been making sure to drink plenty of water. My go-to-drink is a lemon detox water and it is not only very good for you, it get rid of toxins in your body. Detoxification is the removal of toxins from within a living organism. I like to think that I am keeping myself alive&well by drinking this beverage (its true!). The results of this detox drink have shown better digestion in the body, and it detoxifies the liver. It also helps repair the skin and improves the overall health and well-being. I started drinking lemon detox water after I watched a Blogilates YouTube video. Cassey Ho is my inspiration and I look up to her for fitness and health. She posted a video about Detoxifying yourself and I though I would try it! Here is what I put in my detox water. For 20 ounces of water I use:

  • a slice of lemon
  • 2 slices of orange
  • 3 slices of cucumber 
  • and 4 mint leaves

Feel free to change it up for your preferation. sometimes the mint gets a little strong so i take some leaves out. I would say I keep the same cup and fruit for about 3 cups of water and then it just looses its flavour. Detox water is a great way to stay healthy&replenished, and is also super easy and affordable. So make sure you try it!

Grammys 2015

Over all I thought that the grammy awards this year were a total success. From the performances to the outfits to the nominations. I felt like there were so many impressive looks, so many of them with the deep v or a nice black dress. One of Marley’s and my favourites was Taylor’s beautiful teal/seafoam green dress. I loved how she didn’t have a low v and that it was blue. Iggy also had a fun bright blue dress. I was also surprised and impressed that Katy Perry showed up in a very modest dress. Way to go Katy! A dress that really didn’t appeal to me way Kim K’s. I just thought that it was not figure flattering at all and it showed a bit to much skin in the front for my liking. For many Nicki Minaj was the belle of the ball in her very sexy black fringe, low v dress. Personally that was not my favourite but everyone is entitled to their own opinion, so comment who’s outfit was your favourite!
