I am not sure if you all noticed this but this last May my dad and I went on a daddy daughter date to get tattoos! It is definatly a different daddy daughter experience than you would normally expect. I wanted to share my experience with you and why I decided to get a tattoo.
For years I have always wanted a tattoo, something that would represent my faith and be personal. In middle school I would always draw fake tattoos on my wrist, my hand or on my friends. It was just always something that interested me. The tattoo says “Strength” in greek with the verse Philippians 4:13 written under it. In the bible the verse says, ” I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” This is a verse I have had memorized since I was in grade 2. The reason that I got strength written in greek above it is because if you study any history of the bible you will find out that the New Testament was written in greek. This verse has always stayed close to me because my life has never been perfect and I worry a lot. It reminds me that in my darkest moments God is always there. It also became my theme verse when I was in my missions trip to Thailand.
The reason why I got it on the inside of my arm was so that I could always see it and that it could be a constant reminder. That I can always look down on my arm and remember that God is with me.
As for the experience, I was very nervous at first. I was nervous because once I started I could never go back, but I don’t regret it even for a second. I would like to say that I have a pretty high pain tolerance so getting the tattoo did not hurt very much. It felt like a cat was scratching me a few times close together. I also got it in a place that is known not to hurt as much. I found the after care to be a bit tedious but it is a must for the tattoo to look as good as it can. Make sure that you follow the instructions that your artist gives you specifically. My instructions were to keep it out of direct sunlight, to wash with unscented soap, and NOT TO PEEL THE DEAD SKIN. That one is really important to keep the ink looking as good as possible.
I hope that this gave you some insight on to why I got a tattoo and a little bit about how the process went. If you have any more questions I would love to answer them through our email firstname.lastname@example.org.

fun fact: the script was written by one of my best friends that I went to Thailand with, Marissa.
