Hey guys! I was on Pinterest the other day and saw a super fun idea for storing eye glasses & sunglasses and decided that I wanted to try it out and hang it in my room, so here goes! If you don’t want to hang glasses on it, you can use these mini clothes pegs and hang pictures 🙂
We picked up this picture frame from a local second-hand store and it’s perfect for this DIY!
You will need:
- a frame
- paint primer
- paint
- twine
- small saw tooth hangers
- a ruler
- a level
- staple gun
- hammer
Make sure to buy a wooden frame because you will need use a stapler gun on it. And don’t forget to measure the space you want it to fit first! Don’t worry what’s in the frame or the colour because you can change it 🙂
Remove glass and the picture, and place newspaper down before you start. I chose this white paint that I had because I knew it would match my room. To speed things up, you could use a spray paint. and blow dry it.
I painted 2 coats of primer and 3 coats of paint on. Once dry, put the saw tooth hanger on (measure and level first with markings) and attach “stoppers” (that you use on cupboard doors) on the lower 2 corners to prevent friction. To add some colour to my holder, I braided 2 pieces of pink twine and 1 piece of brown.
Measure 3 rows depending on what you want to hang on them and staple twine in place. I used this staple gun twice over each to secure them down.
Since I already had the paint and brushes and gun at home, the total cost was less than $10!
