Minimalism is all the hype on Instagram and tumblr lately, from what have seen. If you don’t know what minimalism is, it is when someone likes to keep things very simple. I love the look of minimalism but I could never pull it off. I can still try to create teams in my room that have a minimalist touch. I want to share with you a homemade garland that I think is super cute. This craft took me about 15 minutes to make and looks like something you could by at a cute boutique downtown.
ribbon or string
hot glue gun
chalkboard paint
chalk
paint brush
small wood circle cut out (make sure it has a hole on the top)
slightly larger burlap circles (make sure it has a hole on the top)
bells (optional)
Step one: Take the small wooden circles and paint them with the chalkboard paint and let them dry. I painted five for my garland which, was slightly longer than both of my arms stretched out. While I was waiting for the circles to dry I had to unravel the string I bought because it was to large for the bells to slide on so make sure they work.
Step two: Next I took the burlap circle and the dry wood circle and hot glued them together so that the burlap was sneaking out from the edges of the wooden circle. I would recommend finding wooden circles that are small than what I got so that you can see more burlap.
Step three: I then took the bells and circles and strung them on the string I had. You can create any pattern you want with the bells and circles or even swap out the bells from something else that you find.
Step four: Draw any cute design you want on the chalkboard circles and hang it up.
I love this craft and thought that it was super cute! show us your recreations on Instagram, Facebook, or Twitter with the hashtag basicbloggerss we would love to see them! Until next time xoxo Vienna
